A native of Wisconsin, Nora Frisk holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Illinois and a Master of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Wisconsin. A seasoned orchestral musician, Ms. Frisk has served as the principal violist of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra since 1987. She is also a contracted member of the Kalamazoo Symphony, principal violist of the Whiting Festival Orchestra, and a frequent guest musician with various orchestras throughout the Midwest.

As a dedicated educator and musician advocate, Ms. Frisk serves as a mentoring chamber music coach for the Fischoff Academy, a division of the Fischoff International Chamber Music Competition. She was formerly an adjunct viola professor at the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s College, and Valparaiso University, and served as the principal viola instructor at the Citadel School of Music and Dance. Additionally, she has contributed her talents as a conductor and coach for the string orchestra at Purdue University Northwest.

In addition to maintaining a vibrant private teaching studio, Ms. Frisk is a founding member of the "LaSté Duo," an innovative viola and steel drum ensemble and just recently, became a founding member of the “Rise” Quartet who unites to elevate unrepresented female composers. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and cooking.
